Fast Friday Fabric Challenge Sketch

"What Goes Around Comes Around" was the theme for August, and involved using circles. Right away I knew what I was going to do, started sketching it out...and then..I thought of another idea that I liked better. Started sketching it out and then...yep, you guessed it, I thought of ANOTHER idea.

The Challenge was posted on August 22, the entries are due the following Saturday, as you can see I have still not done mine and it is Sept. 19!

The problem was I had TOO many ideas and just couldn't decide which one I wanted to do. Usually I am pretty fast when a theme grabs me, but this time, I was blocked by the time frame of a week. For some reason I just felt the need to work BIG this time around. Once I realized that was the problem, I quickly made the choice of subject.

I am combining elements from these two photos that I took .

Here is the rough sketch (size 22"x 28") with the man on the bike and the gazebo combined. I need to use another photo of the gazebo to get the details down, and change the reflection in the water because the direction of the lighting is different in the two subjects. I'm also going to change the pond a bit, maybe even add a swan or some ducks to make it look more like the real scene. I threw in the trees but haven't decided if I will add trees or not right now.

Possible title: "Biking Thru the Park"

This won't be done this week, or maybe even next week, but I will be working on it every chance I get. I'll be sure to share photos of my progress.

I haven't done something like this in a very, very long time and I am excited that the urge to work with fabrics has finally returned.

    1. Thanks Susie! I'll be refining this until next week and then will start picking fabrics. I already have an idea of what I am going to use, but I'm sure you know how that always works out..lol
