Another doll in the works

Been a couple of weeks since I posted, one of my son's has been home sick all this week and the first week of the month is always a busy time for me, what with the monthly shopping, bill paying etc.

I haven't been idle though. I added 40 new ideas and inspirations to the project journal, and after reading an article in a free ebook from PaperClothScissors , I also started a jar of *prompts* for textile art pieces and plan on doing the same for non-fabric art pieces. On the same site I discovered a use for stretched canvas that I had never thought of  and once I saw it wondered why I hadn't! It solves an issue I've been having finishing off the little ballerina witch, so I was glad I found it.

I spent quite a bit of time last week surfing and browsing through Youtube videos and the forums on WetCanvas, as well as many of the free resources available on PaperClothScissors, and blogs that I found by surfing and will probably never be able to find again!

In one of those places I found out how to make the frame for a sculpture or doll and since I have wire and all decided to begin work on one.

And here it is, hard to tell but this will be a gal, I already have a pretty good idea of the direction I want to go in with her, hopefully she doesn't prove to be as stubborn as the little witch was!

She stands about 16" tall. Isn't she pretty and look at those long legs! Funny, I don't try to make legs like this, but I always do, think this is going to become my style. Maybe because my own legs are rather short and...ummm...stumpy...LOL Anyhow, I'm hoping to begin adding her muscles and all tomorrow afternoon and plan on doing a step by step as I go along. Should be fun because I am just learning (and making things up) as I go along! So make sure to check back and see how she progresses.
