I think I mentioned awhile back that one of my goals is to make a version of a Baltimore Album quilt completely by hand. Yeah I know, I'm nuts! Anyhow I found one that I really loved in an old issue of McCalls Quilting magazine. Grandma's Country Album by Robert Callaham. It was just what I wanted. However the amount of fabric required made me pause. Then the wonderful gift of fabric happened! While sorting it all, I began to notice that all the fabrics I wanted and needed for the album quilt were in the bags! So I ordered the pattern and yesterday started one of the blocks from the magazine I have. So here is yesterday's project, my very first hand appliquéd block :-) It feels REALLY good to be working on something for myself for a change, besides this is going to be a real challenge for me to complete, having never done ANYTHING totally by hand before, and I just LOVE a good challenge!
I am quite happy with this block, not perfect, but would surprise me if it was. This will be my *humility block* in the quilt :-)
It's lovely, Cathy!
