Mini scrapbooks/albums
While surfing, I stumbled upon a site showing how to make mini scrapbooks, the 2 on top are 5.5" x 5" and have 14 pages to glue pictures, stamp, write, or glue memorabilia on, 4 of the pages have a pocket and each set of pages also has another pocket to slide things into. The smaller book is 4x5" and is perfect to put ATCs in, it also has 14 pages, with inside pockets and also slide in pockets
This is the inside of the Skye book, I am making it for a 5 year old girl to put pictures of herself and her kitty Milo in :-) I made this with her favorite colors, using scrapbook papers and will glue in some pictures I have of her and the kitty and leave others blank for her to add her own artistic touches.
This one I used vinyl wallpaper samples and all the pages are shades of green with a spring theme. I may use it as a *card* to send out when spring arrives or to hold art cards with a spring theme
This is one page in the orangey book, I tried fusing fabric on instead of gluing paper and am waiting to see how that sticks. This will be one for my grandson to add to, and will be for his Mom for Christmas, front will say Mommy and Me.
Now you may be wondering what these are made from...and this really amazed me when I saw it...LUNCH BAGS!! The site (wish I could remember where) just showed how to make them by sewing down the center and gluing papers. I wasn't too happy with that so began experimenting on my own and have come up with an even easier way to make and personalize these! I also don't like using paper for the covers and discovered that fabric works great! They are wonderful! Easy to make (and I hope to sell!!) You can even make versions with less pages as cards to fit all occasions, which I will be doing! No longer will I need to buy cards :-)
I love these Cathy-thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI spent three days this week dyeing wool with ragwood-fun!! check out my blogs,
We are to warm up in the 80s tomorrow, and since I just got my dharma order yesterday (just in time) I will be playing with dye for two sets of curtains.

Cathy, these are adorable. I saw some a lady at work had done with the lunch bags.. what wound up being really cute about those was that the bag openings were left to the outside and she was putting extra pics or little treasures in them.
ReplyDeleteAdorable ideas .. now if only i had some time.
wow. that is going to be such a nice book for skye. :)
ReplyDeleteanother hour and she should be getting on the plane to come home! cant wait to hug her! :) will be COLD here tho. we were in the 20s last night and supposed to be 'frost warnings' again tonight. i am taking a quilt with me to the airport. sent her jacket down, but doubt she will wear it home. :( and liz has not answered her phone all day for me to tell her how cold it is. :(
