Well I had the first class Saturday for the fabric photos and it went
really well. I had 7 ladies and the first class was "lecture" day.I handed out
folders with printouts of what I put in the files on my groups for the "practice class"..lol, so they would have it as a reference later and then I gave I guess what is called a "trunk show"? Showed them some examples of my work, and the enlarged photos that went with them. Explaining different techniques as I went
along, and passing some around the table. (This was a first time for
this type of thing for me and it was pretty fun!) Then I had brought a
bin of fabric along so showed them different samples of stuff and what
they could be used for, and the different prospectives like for
distance, etc....then we had like a question and answer period, and
then I looked at some photos they had brought and gave suggestions,
and gave them their *homework* assignments. When all that was done
there was still 40 minutes left...LOL So they all went shopping and I
kind of wandered around the store and every once in awhile, one would
come up to me and ask me about a certain fabric.
BY the end of the class everyone was excited and talking and laughing,
and changing their minds about their photos to better ones or asking
how to combine elements from a couple into one quilt, etc. I
apologized for all the time left by saying Gee I must have talked too
fast, we have 40 minutes left and they were all saying Oh but you told
us SO much in this time! And now you can help us shop!
Annnnd 3 more folks signed up for this class today! So I am well on my
way to filling up July now :-D
I leave greetings and love from austria!
